Faculty of Theology

The language of instruction is 30% Arabic.

Our faculty is located on the North Campus at the following address: Ünalan Mah. Ünalan Sok. D-100 Karayolu Yangon (Highway Side Road), 34700 Üsküdar/Istanbul.

The preparatory class education is provided at the School of Foreign Languages, located at Eski Ankara Asfaltı Street No:28, Fatih District, Tuzla/Istanbul.

Applications for course exemption (adaptation) should be submitted to the Faculty Secretariat. The application must include a petition along with the transcript and course descriptions from your previously attended program.

Courses that are deemed appropriate in terms of content and credits by the Faculty Adaptation Committee may be transferred.

Students may request a leave of absence for a maximum of four semesters, not exceeding two consecutive semesters at a time, due to health issues, military service, education at another higher education institution (domestic or abroad), or financial and family reasons. Applications must be submitted to the Faculty Secretariat within the first two weeks of the relevant semester, along with a petition and supporting documents.

Applications must be submitted to the Office of Student Affairs.

Course add/drop procedures are carried out with your academic advisor during the period specified in the academic calendar.

If you have been marked as unregistered and wish to renew your registration, you must apply to the Dean’s Office with a petition and supporting documents explaining your reason for missing registration. This must be done before the end of the course add/drop period as specified in the academic calendar. If the Faculty Administrative Board approves your excuse, your registration will be completed.

Starting from the second year, students are required to complete their course registrations themselves via the Student Information System (ÖBS) in consultation with their academic advisor.

Electronically signed student certificates can be obtained from the Office of Student Affairs (ÖBS).

Before the end of your leave of absence and prior to the start of the course registration period, you must apply to the Dean’s Office with a petition stating your intention to resume your studies.

The relevant provisions of our university’s Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations regarding make-up exams are as follows:

ARTICLE 27 - (1) Students who are unable to attend midterm assignments or exams due to valid excuses may apply to their respective faculty/school within one week following the end of the exam/assignment week. If the Faculty Administrative Board accepts the application, the make-up exam is scheduled by the respective faculty/school.

(2) A make-up exam may be granted under the following circumstances: a) A medical excuse documented with a report issued by a fully equipped healthcare institution; b) The death of a close relative (mother, father, sibling, spouse, child, etc.) on a date that prevents the student from attending the exam, supported with official documentation; c) Unexpected situations such as traffic accidents, fire, flood, earthquake, or demolition, documented with official reports; d) Detention and/or arrest, documented with an official record from authorities; e) Schedule conflicts between midterm exams of courses taken from other faculties/departments and the student's registered program; f) Other excuses accepted by the relevant administrative board.

(3) A student who submits a medical report is not allowed to attend any exams or coursework on the reported days. Any exams or assignments attended during this period will be considered invalid.

The relevant provisions of our university’s Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations regarding exam grade appeals and corrections are as follows:

ARTICLE 31 - (1) Appeals to exam grades can only be made on the basis of a material error. Requests for re-evaluation of the exam will not be considered.

2) A student who wishes to appeal their exam grade must apply to the relevant dean’s office within three business days following the announcement of the grade. Appeals are reviewed and decided by the relevant administrative board within one week.

3) If an instructor detects a clerical error in the announced exam grade, they must submit a justified correction request to the relevant department within 10 days of the grade announcement. The application will be reviewed and finalized by the administrative board of the department.
